All right, today on this 2012 Hyundai Sonata we're going to show you the Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains, Part Number PWPLC1138. Now for reference, we'll work with a tire size today of 205/65-R16. Now this is what the snow chains look like when they're installed on a tire. We'll go ahead and take a closer look at the crossbars. When we look at the links themselves, it's constructed from a square stock. There's at least two sides of the corner that faces the ice and snow and helps it dig in. This is what's called Class-S chain which is designed for vehicles with limited clearance between the fender well and a tire and also components behind the tire as well. All right, now one last little detail about the crossbars here is that the links are created from the case hardened steel so this'll take a very long time to wear down, and the rest of our chain is created from the low carbon steel. Now these chains are designed for basically light duty use, basically get you out of a jam when you need to. more

Today on our 2011 Hyundai Sonata we'll be installing and taking a look at the Glacier Cable Snow Tire chains, part number PW1038. As you see, these tire chains feature nice, steel construction along with heavy duty steel rollers here that roll on the cross wire. That's what's going to give you traction in the snow and ice. At this end, it features two hooks for easy installation. All you have to do is bring the cable chain all around your tire, put it on the hooks and then hook in the excess wire here in the keepers and you're ready to hit the road. The other end features adjustable notches here so you can get a nice tight fit around your tire. They also feature a metal connector here that connect the cross wire here to the side wire. more

To begin our test fit, we'll lay the chains flat out on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. This will ensure that the tire chain will fit correctly around the tire. We'll now drape the tire chains over the tire, making sure that they are centered and the hooks of the tire chain are facing out, so you don't damage the outer wall of the tire. more

Now, starting with the yellow end of the cable, we'll slide it back behind the tire, and bring up the two ends at the 12 o'clock position and hook them together. more
